Environmental Protection
The Environmental Protection Program manages dynamic environmental issues
pertaining to the airport operations and surrounding areas, including storm
water pollution prevention, hazardous waste and emergency response, air quality
and industrial hygiene, environmental assessment and construction monitoring,
site remediation, solid waste management and recycling, vector control, wildlife
preservation, and airport/tenant regulatory compliance assistance.
Mission Statement
To lead the airport industry in the development and implementation
of comprehensive environmental programs and practices designed
to ensure a safe operating environment throughout the airport
and the surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
The department's key responsibilities are to ensure compliance
with all environmental laws and regulations; responsibly manage
environmental issues pertaining to the airport operations
and its potential impacts to surrounding areas; protect and
promote the natural resources within the Airport Authority’s
jurisdiction; and disseminate public information.
