Effective February 18, Allegiant Air will operate from Terminal 2 East at San Diego International Airport (SAN). Allegiant’s ticket counter will be located at the west end of the American Airlines ticket counter and the airline will operate from gate 33 post-security. Effective February 24, JetBlue Airways will operate from Terminal 2 West at SAN. JetBlue Airways’ ticket counter will be located at the east end of the Delta Air Lines ticket counter and the airline will operate from gate 34 post-security.
The relocation is to make space available as construction continues for the New T1 project which includes the replacement of the outdated Terminal 1, improvements to the airfield, improved transportation connectivity to the airport, and a new facility for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (Airport Authority) administration.
Construction on the New T1 commenced November 1, 2021. Additional passenger impacts currently include the relocation of the Cell Phone Lot to the parking lot on McCain Road and the closure of some of the parking spots available in the Terminal 1 parking lot.
