San Diego International Airport (SAN) is thrilled to relaunch our SAN Green Concessions Program after a pause during the pandemic.
Our newly revamped program was developed in-house by our Planning and Environmental Affairs Department to give our food & beverage and retail concessions a tangible blueprint and goals to work toward which will make SAN a more sustainable environment.
The first two concessions to join our updated SAN Green Concessions Program are PGA Tour Grill in Terminal 2 and Einstein Bros. Bagels in Terminal 2. There are currently eleven concessions certified in the updated program!
Their participation means they are implementing energy, water, and food reduction strategies, they purchase sustainable products, recycle waste and compost, and implement socially responsible measures whenever possible.
Our concessions participating in the program work with Airport Authority staff to achieve the desired measures.
The SAN Green Concessions Program certification lasts for one year and will require check-ins on an annual basis to ensure continued participation in the program.
The next time you visit SAN, looks for a SAN Green Concessions decal on the storefront or windows so you know that you are supporting an environmentally friendly concession!
