Today, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (Airport Authority) along with federal, state, and city officials held a groundbreaking celebration for the New T1. 

With the holiday season upon us, the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority’s Planning & Environmental Affairs Department put together some eco-friendly holiday tips to help you reduce your environmental footprint in the coming month. 

San Diego International Airport (SAN) wants you to be prepared before arriving at the airport during this holiday season. SAN is offering the following travel tips to ensure a safe and seamless journey: 

The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is celebrating the launch of the “San Diego Flyer,” a free to customers electric shuttle bus service between the airport and Old Town Transit Center. The electric shuttle buses operate seven days a week, with an average arrival every 20 to 30 minutes.

The electric shuttle buses operate seven days a week, with an average arrival every 20 to 30 minutes. Pick up and drop-offs are timed to meet the first and last Trolley, Coasters, Amtrak trains, and MTS busses with the first pick up at 4:45 a.m. and the last pick up/drop off at 12:30 a.m.

Today, Canadian-based ultra-low-cost carrier Swoop, celebrated its first nonstop flight from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada via Edmonton International Airport (YEG) to San Diego International Airport (SAN). Swoop is a new airline operating at SAN and this route marks the only nonstop flight between the two cities. The flight will operate three times weekly during peak season on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Today, British Airways resumed their nonstop service between London, England, United Kingdom via Heathrow Airport (LHR) and San Diego International Airport (SAN). The resumption comes after British Airways was forced to suspend service in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline is the first carrier to resume nonstop service to Europe from San Diego.
