Airport Shuttle Services
On Airport
When you park in any of the lots at San Diego International
Airport, you’re never far from your gate. That's because the airport has
introduced a new fleet of customer-friendly parking shuttles, featuring new amenities
and running on compressed natural gas (CNG). These free shuttles loop between the
airport’s SAN Park parking lots and the terminals, seven days a week, 24 hours a
day.
Each of our new green, orange and blue parking shuttles feature San Diego–themed
graphics to help you remember which shuttle to take. Low floors, kneeling capabilities
and wheelchair lifts make getting on and off easier for all passengers.
The shuttles round out the airport’s total fleet of parking shuttles to 24, all
running on CNG. These alternative-fuel shuttles will get you from your car to your
flight, no matter which convenient SAN Park lot you choose—or what time you need
to use it.
The airport also recently unveiled its newly branded Airport Loop shuttle service.
Formerly known as the Red Bus, the shuttles provide free, frequent transportation
between terminals. The Airport Loop runs seven days a week, 24 hours
a day, to help bring you one step closer to your flight.
Off Airport
Shuttle vans and buses operated by off-airport companies are a popular and convenient
transportation option. Shuttle service is available at the Transportation Plazas
across from Terminals 1 and 2, and curbside at the Commuter Terminal.
From Terminal 1 you must cross the
skybridge, and take either the escalators or the elevators to street level. From
Terminal 2, use the pedestrian crosswalk
conveniently located outside the Terminal 2 Baggage Claim Area to access the Transportation
Plaza. A Transportation Coordinator will place you with the first available shuttle,
unless you specify a particular shuttle company.
The guide at right lists shuttle companies frequently used by travelers. Call directly
or use the Web links to find the shuttle that best suits your needs. Policies, services
and rates are subject to change and may vary based on destination, passengers and
number of stops.
For passengers with disabilities, each shuttle for hire company is required by the airport to
have within their fleet ADA compatible vehicles. Subcontracting for this type of
service is permissible. Please contact the customer service representative for more
information.
