Documentation
In order to participate, the Program requires that the Grant of Avigation
Easement and Homeowner Participation Agreement be signed before the Assessment
appointment. If these documents are not signed before the scheduled Assessment
appointment, your home will be removed from the construction group.
Avigation Easement
A legal document that provides the right to cross through or otherwise use the airspace
overlying the property of another, together with the right to cause in the airspace
such noise, vibrations, fumes, dust, turbulence, fuel particles and similar activity
as may be inherent in the operations of aircraft used at the San Diego International
Airport. A sample
Avigation Easement may be found here.
Homeowner Participation Agreement
A legal document that pertains to the entire Program, which specifies the
responsibilities of the homeowners, and the Airport Authority. A sample
Homeowner Participation Agreement may be found here.
Appointments
Homeowners will be required to attend six mandatory appointments prior to the
start of construction. The appointment durations will vary depending upon the
size and complexity of your home, but generally average one to two hours per
meeting. If you do not attend all of these appointments, your home may be
removed from the construction group and placed back onto the waiting list.
