The Airport Authority was recognized for going above and beyond local, state and

2011 Procurement Advocate of the Year
The Airport Authority was honored by the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
with its Procurement Advocate of the Year Award.
Finance
2011 Golden Watchdog Award
The Airport Authority received a Golden Watchdog Award for efficient use of tax
dollars for the bond sale for The Green Build.
Diversity
2011 Award of the Organization
San Diego County Regional Airport Authority was recognized by the Airport Minority
Advisory Council for significant contributions toward the inclusion of historically
underrepresented businesses in contracting opportunities.
Planning
2011 Outstanding Environmental Technical Report
The Airport Authority’s planning department was recognized by the Association of
Environmental Professionals (San Diego Chapter) for the Ryan Aeronautical Historical
American Buildings Survey and Interpretive Display/Website at www.ryanaero.org.
Human Resources
First Place Marble Award
The Airport Authority received a first place Marble Award in 2010 for Best Medium-Sized
Employer for Workplace Excellence from the San Diego Society for Human Resources
Management.
Marketing/Public Relations
2011 Silver Anvil
The Airport Authority’s public and customer relations team won a Silver Anvil from
the Public Relations Society of America in the Community Relations – Government
category for the campaign to launch construction on The Green Build. The Silver
Anvil is the industry’s highest honor.
Construction/Development
2011 Aviation Project of the Year
The Airport Authority was recognized by the California Transportation Foundation
for its Taxiway C Rehabilitation project.
